2018 Canadian Tourism Sector Compensation Study

Tourism HR Canada is looking for tourism businesses to participate in the 2018 Canadian Tourism Sector Compensation Study.

How do you decide what to pay employees? What benefits attract new employees and keep your most valuable employees from leaving? 

Surveys like this are essential to understanding the challenges that employers face. Findings will be shared in a comprehensive report, providing employers with a wealth of industry information and analysis.

The survey takes 10 to 15 minutes to complete. Once you complete the survey, you will be asked to submit compensation data for your business/organization either online or using an Excel spreadsheet. All data provided will be kept anonymous and used only in aggregate form. Both components may be completed online or by email, fax, phone, or mail. For more information, click here.

Reminder: Indigenous Tourism Experience Award category added to the Saskatchewan Tourism Awards of Excellence

A new category in the Saskatchewan Tourism Awards of Excellence will publicly recognize a business, partnership, organization, event or attraction that incorporates Saskatchewan Indigenous culture, traditions and stories into its product offering.

The Saskatchewan Tourism Awards of Excellence acknowledge exceptional contributions to the province’s tourism sector. These industry awards, presented in 13 categories, honour individuals, businesses, communities and events that go above and beyond to provide great experiences and service. 2019 Employer of Choice Deadline Approaching

Employers working toward Employer of Choice in 2019 are reminded that the application deadline is Friday, November 30. The Employer of Choice program helps tourism operators to ensure consistent and excellent customer service delivery and customer retention.

A Tourism Saskatchewan Employer of Choice designation not only helps workers choose one employer over another, it also helps an employer keep star performers.

Application forms and intake deadlines for the Event Hosting Program and the Co-operative Advertising Program are now available 

Tourism Saskatchewan offers financial assistance for event organizers, communities and organizations through the Event Hosting Program. The next opportunity to apply for support goes from November 1, 2018 to February 28, 2019.

Saskatchewan operators can receive advertising subsidies and digital marketing assistance through Tourism Saskatchewan's Co-operative Advertising Program (CAP). This cost-shared, application-based program provides tourism industry stakeholders an opportunity to participate in advertising activities encouraging travel both within and from outside of Saskatchewan.

The next opportunity for support runs from November 1, 2018 to February 28, 2019. A second intake is subject to availability of funds as per the allocation outcome of the first intake.
