2019 HOST Saskatchewan Conference
The 2019 HOST Saskatchewan Conference was held in Saskatoon at TCU Place on April 11. The one-day forum offered delegates engaging presentations and valuable networking opportunities.The 30th annual Saskatchewan Tourism Awards of Excellence Gala was celebrated that evening.

- Keynote address by Rebecca Mackenzie, President and CEO of the Culinary Tourism Alliance (CTA) – In a dynamic presentation titled A Recipe for Developing a Taste of Place, Mackenzie touched on the history of growing the food tourism industry in Ontario and shared CTA accomplishments and successful partnerships. Industry benefited from facts about current consumer demand for food tourism and developments taking place within the broader tourism industry.
- Plenary session by William Bakker, Chief Strategist and Partner at Destination Think! – Bakker presented a session focusing on content marketing success stories. The session included case studies, as well as best practices and strategies for industry, provincial marketing organizations (PMOs) and destination marketing organizations (DMOs) to work together.
- Breakout sessions were held on topics ranging from Saskatchewan’s Tourism Sentiment Index and events, festivals and the visitor economy to panel presentations on Indigenous and culinary tourism.
